In the fitting room, the first steps are to confirm the surgery and the garment nominated by the Surgeon, discuss how after-surgery swelling and/or change in body shape may affect garment fit – and to take body measurements.
When each measurement gives the same chart size, the garment is likely to achieve a good fit. If one or more measurements give a different size a judgement must be made about the size discrepancy and the area of surgery. For some clip fastening garments, extenders may be an option. If another garment type, or a combination of garments, is needed to achieve a ‘good enough’ fit, the surgeon is contacted to confirm that the garment(s) is acceptable.
The garment can then be fitted to see if feelings about ‘tightness of fit’ affect a ‘good fit’. ‘Tightness’ can be felt in the fitting room, but not ONLINE. As guide, a measurement at the upper end of a size range will have a ‘tighter’ fit and at the lower end it will have a ‘less firm’ fit.
Then, with the garment on, guidance is provided on how to wear, adjust and care for the garment post-surgery.

A corsetiere was a specialist in making and fitting what today are called lingerie and compression garments.
Their 'art' was founded on knowledge, experience, informed questioning and observation, and brought to life in the fitting room.
As specialist garment fitters, the 'art of the corsetiere' captures the essence of what we do - fit garments to the individual body shapes of men and women.
