In the fitting room, once the bust and underbust measurements are taken, discussion turns to selecting the fashion or sports bra that you like and that compliments your body, breast shape and size.
Fitting the bras highlights any issues with garment anatomy. Is a firmer or wider side band needed hold the breast in at the side? Is the cup too small, causing the breast to push out at the top? Does the cup ‘pucker’ because the cup is too big or the wrong shape for the breast? Is the cleavage height right for the surgery? What strap adjustment is needed to position the band under the breast? Does one strap need to be adjusted differently to align the breasts? Does the bra work for your clothing preferences?
After checking band and shoulder strap adjustment, feelings about ‘tightness of fit’ and how this might affect the ‘good fit’ can be discussed. ‘Tightness or looseness’ can be felt in the fitting room, but not ONLINE. As guide, an under bust or bust measurement at the upper end of size range will have a ‘tighter’ fit and at the lower end it will have a ‘less firm’ fit.
The final step is to review the fit. Standing, sitting and moving about is a good way to check wear comfort. Wearing a ‘lined fitting top’ and using a mirror see the front and side breast profile is a good way to feel confident about breast balance.

A corsetiere was a specialist in making and fitting what today are called lingerie and compression garments.
Their 'art' was founded on knowledge, experience, informed questioning and observation, and brought to life in the fitting room.
As specialist garment fitters, the 'art of the corsetiere' captures the essence of what we do - fit garments to the individual body shapes of men and women.
