A compression bra and separate split panel binder can be more practical for drain lines, wound care and toileting whilst in hospital. The binder is also easier to put on, take off and adjust as swelling reduces.
When post-operative swelling has reduced, a girdle or body suit can be more comfortable and discreet under clothing. Zip or clip fastening reduces stress on the incision when taking the garment on and off.

3 or 4 panel binder depends on torso length and cover beyond the surgery.
If the fastener is located where liposuction is done, ask your surgeon if it could affect the outcome.
The girdle or body suit can be an alternative or a more comfortable second garment.
After sutures are removed and skin fully closes, 100% medical grade silicone ointment and sheets act as a protective barrier over scars, reducing water evaporation and helping stop excessive scar tissue build-up.
After recovery, it can be better to start with non-underwire bras to avoid the rigid wires pressing on scarring.
Breast lift surgery changes the size and position of the breast. A different bra and cup style can be needed for the new breast.
