After surgery your breast shape and/or size will have changed and the bra you have always worn may not be what you need. Rather than rushing into buying new bras, it can be better to wait until swelling has dissipated and then to get to know your new breasts by being open to different suggestions.
To achieve a good fit, it is better to measure first because sometimes the size we think we are is not the size we measure. The bra you are wearing is likely to have stretched, breast shape or size may be different and the sizing of the bra you are wearing can be different to another brand.
When lymph nodes are removed and/or radiotherapy affects lymph vessels, the capacity of the lymphatic system is reduced and lymphoedema can be a matter of chance. A non-underwire bra can lessen the risk because the slightly wider band and straps and slightly higher cleavage distribute pressure more evenly and there are no rigid underwires to restrict lymph flow.
After a mastectomy your existing wardrobe can be affected. Bringing a couple of tops to try when choosing a bra allows you to see how you will look in the bra and whether you need a bandeau or bib to manage deeper necklines.

A corsetiere was a specialist in making and fitting what today are called lingerie and compression garments.
Their 'art' was founded on knowledge, experience, informed questioning and observation, and brought to life in the fitting room.
As specialist garment fitters, the 'art of the corsetiere' captures the essence of what we do - fit garments to the individual body shapes of men and women.
