Bras purchased prior to a mastectomy, lumpectomy or breast reconstruction may not have the upper cup shape or cleavage height needed to cover breast and chest scarring.
Lace infill can provide the cover that is needed.
In the privacy of the fitting room, a sample lace panel can be pinned into place to show the outcome.
Depending on the colour of the bra and any lace trim, lace may then need to be sourced. If this occurs, an additional fitting may be needed to confirm selection.
When selection choices have been agreed, the lace is cut to suit the fitting room pattern and then sewn in behind the upper edge of the cup.
If lymph nodes have been removed or affect by surgery, existing underwire bras are better used for occasional wear to reduce the risk of the underwires creating lines of pressure that aggravate lymph flow and scarring.
