REIMBURSEMENT OPTIONS

There are government and private health insurance options for claiming the cost of products after undergoing surgery.

For women who have undergone breast cancer related breast surgery, the Australian Government’s External Breast Prostheses Reimbursement Program will reimburse up to $400 per prostheses.

Holders of a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card can claim for surgery related compression garments, pocketed fashion and sports bras, breast prostheses and compression sleeves.

Participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can be fitted with a garment that contributes to their health and wellbeing and have a quotation forwarded to their Registered NDIS Provider for payment.

Depending on your Private Health Insurance Policy, you may be able to claim reimbursement for post-surgical compression garments, pocketed fashion and sports bras, prostheses, pocketed swimwear, lymphoedema bras and compression sleeves.
