This pad has the same profile on each side and therefore can be fitted over the breast and chest on the left or right side.
As shown in the images above, this pad is worn inside a compression bra. Once positioned correctly, the firm encapsulating fit of the compression bra holds the pad in place.
Whilst pad size is based on the upper arm circumference, this can be misleading because it may not correlate with the size needed for the side of chest and/or breast. A fitting can be a better option for determining the combination of pad size and compression bra style and size needed to target the area(s) of swelling or fibrosis.
Talking to your Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist is the best way to determine the pad type and frequency of wear that is appropriate for your circumstances. Research suggests that treatment and management can be more successful when they combine massage, exercise and care in choosing bras that do not restrict lymph flow.
User instructions are provided with this pad.
As a guide, gentle machine wash with mild detergent in cool water. Do not use bleach or softener. Tumble drying at low temperature is nominated, but unless the temperature can be regulated, air drying in the shade may be the better option.

Movement of Lymphatic Fluid Claim: Regional channels of high and low pressure help to push oedema and lymph fluid into areas of least resistance and towards functioning lymphatic drainage areas. Research studies are mentioned but have not been sighted.
