The Berlei Y130W Post Surgery Compression Bra is a good choice when recovering from surgery that changed or increased breast size or removed part or all the breast because its medium compression gives you the slightly softer even fit that aids the reduction of swelling, tenderness and bruising.

It's comfortable to wear during recovery because its softer even fit gives you the medium support that holds the post op breast whilst healing and reduces breast movement when moving about.

It's a post surgery mastectomy bra because its pocketed cups allow a Soft Form to be fitted for shape during recovery and to transfer compression from the bra to the chest to aid swelling reduction.

Is this bra easy to manage after surgery?

Your fashion bra size might not be the right post op bra size when you're sore and tender after surgery, post op swelling can affect bra size, and the same size might not be the right size a couple of weeks later.

These are our suggestions for making a better ONLINE post op bra size selection.

Before you buy a second post op bra

If your Berlei Y130W Post Surgery Compression Bra is still a good fit and not more 2-3 weeks old, go with the size on the label.

If your bra is more than 2-3 weeks old it may have started to stretch, and as your swelling goes down it will start feeling a bit loose, so it can be better to measure for size.

How to measure and check your pre-surgery bra size

If your Bust measurement is between sizes, the larger Bra Size is usually the better option.

How to adjust your pre-surgery bra size to find your post-surgery bra size

For surgeries such as breast implant removal (explants), a breast lift or breast augmentation, our Sizing Chart Example shows how to adjust your pre-surgery Bra Size based on your Surgeon’s expected change in Cup Size.

For unilateral mastectomy (one breast removed) or more intrusive lumpectomy, use your pre-surgery bra size because you need to fit to the remaining natural breast.

For a bilateral mastectomy, if you haven't chosen to go flat and wear a Vest, choose a preferred bra cup size and use that to select your Soft Forms.
