Herniorrhaphy, Hernioplasty, Laparoscopic (Keyhole) Surgery, Watchful Waiting
Inguinal hernias can appear as a bulge in the groin, scrotum or abdomen that may increase in size with coughing or straining.
They are more likely to be unilateral than bilateral and are more common in men because of the weak spot in the inguinal canal where the spermatic cord enters the scrotum.
Depending on the medical diagnosis, a compression garment may be used to minimise further damage whilst waiting for surgery, aid after surgery recovery or as part of a pro-active watchful waiting program. Before longer-term wear, men should also seek advice about potential complications such as testicular nerve damage.

Garments with a leg extending beyond the hernia surgery can aid swelling reduction.
A closed crotch covers the hernia and avoids edge seams aggravation.
Garments without a fastener can be more comfortable under clothing.
After sutures are removed or dissolve and skin fully closes, 100% medical grade silicone ointment and sheets act as a protective barrier over scars, reducing water evaporation and helping stop excessive scar tissue build-up.

A corsetiere was a specialist in making and fitting what today are called lingerie and compression garments.
Their 'art' was founded on knowledge, experience, informed questioning and observation, and brought to life in the fitting room.
As specialist garment fitters, the 'art of the corsetiere' captures the essence of what we do - fit garments to the individual body shapes of men and women.
