Herniorrhaphy, Hernioplasty, Laparoscopic (Keyhole) Surgery, Watchful Waiting
Incisional hernias typically occur near or along a previous abdominal surgery scar.
They can occur months or years after the surgery. Given that the risks vary depending on the size and location of incision and the severity of the rupture medical diagnosis is the best option.
Depending on the diagnosis, a compression garment may be suggested to minimise further damage and improve mobility whilst waiting for surgery, aid after surgery recovery or as part of a pro-active watchful waiting program.

Binders can be more practical for wound care and toileting after surgery. Body shape influences the choice of split/no split style.
Girdles and shorts provide varying cover and can be more comfortable and discreet under clothing.
After sutures are removed or dissolve and skin fully closes, 100% medical grade silicone ointment and sheets act as a protective barrier over scars, reducing water evaporation and helping stop excessive scar tissue build-up.
