Private Health Cover
Male & Female
Individual Policy Conditions

Private health policies vary by provider and the type of cover that the policy includes – there are no ‘they always cover this’ answers.

Typical garment types that private health insurance may cover include:

Post-surgical compression garments.

Post-surgery compression bras.

Post-mastectomy and lumpectomy pocketed fashion & sports bras.

Post-mastectomy and lumpectomy pocketed bathers.

Post-mastectomy and lumpectomy breast prostheses (breast forms, partial forms & shapers).

Post-surgical compression sleeves.

For each garment type, each provider has an Item Number that needs to be referenced in your claim.

WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR CLAIM

You need to confirm that garment is covered by your policy. BreastCare is not classified as a Health Provider and therefore cannot access your policy to determine what is included.

If the garment is covered, you need to ask your provider for the Item Number, the Claim Form and if your claim can be processed online (‘garment purchase’ claims often need to be processed ‘over the counter’).

You will need a letter from your Surgeon confirming that the garment is needed for post-surgery recovery.

You will need a copy of the ‘paid’ Invoice that was provided after payment at the STUDIO or included with your garment when delivered after an online purchase (do not use the web invoice).

You then need to attach the invoice and letter to your claim.

A corsetiere was a specialist in making and fitting what today are called lingerie and compression garments.

Their 'art' was founded on knowledge, experience, informed questioning and observation, and brought to life in the fitting room.

As specialist garment fitters, the 'art of the corsetiere' captures the essence of what we do - fit garments to the individual body shapes of men and women.
