Girdles provide coverage from above the waist to the groin but vary in the coverage provided to the leg. Some female girdles provide higher back coverage.

Depending on the selected garment cover, applications include recovery from an abdominoplasty, fat transfer, liposuction and/or lipofilling to the bra line, back, abdomen, hip, buttock, thigh, knee and/or calf, recovery after surgery or management of abdominal hernia, as well as combinations of these surgeries.
