Product Notes

Before surgery, it can be helpful to know about lingerie and shaping options after recovery. You can drop in to the STUDIO to see and talk about your options in the privacy of the fitting room.

For a first fitting it is better to wait 4-8 weeks after surgery until chest swelling and soreness has reduced.

Wear and handling can degrade the shape and feel of a breast form and body shape changes can mean a different size, shape or weight is needed. This happens slowly and can go unnoticed. A bi-annual fitting review is a way to check if replacement is needed.

The asymmetrical shape fits either the left or right side. Used when the breast sits more to the side of the chest and post-surgery tissue loss extends into the underarm. The asymmetrical shape can also be rotated to fill sternum tissue loss.

The fuller profile creates a breast with more upper breast fullness. If the chest is more concave, filling the concave shape may result in a slightly reduced upper breast profile.

Performance

Temperature   Claim: Constant gentle temperature regulation between the body and the breast form, preventing unpleasant head built-up and perspiration. Product research suggests the phase-change material (PCM) additive reduces high and low temperature peaks at the inner surface.

Measuring Tips

Measure to the nearest centimetre.

A flexible cloth tape is best. Alternatively, use non-stretch fabric or a belt, mark the size and then measure the length with a metal tape or ruler. Avoid string because it presses into the skin and flexible metal tapes because they wrap unevenly.

Having someone else measure is better. Stand still and upright, relax and breathe out. If self-measuring, use a mirror to check posture and that the tape is level and wrapped firmly (but not tightly) around the body.

After a unilateral mastectomy, measure the underbust against the skin under the bra band, measure the natural breast over the bra using the Half Bust x 2 illustration above, then calculate the bust measurement.

After a bilateral mastectomy, measure the underbust where the bra band will sit, then use the Sizing Chart to select the preferred cup size.

Breast Form Size

Do not confuse breast form size (1…12, 13, 14) with bra band size (8, 10, 12 etc). Whilst the size of the breast form is matched to bra size (as shown on the Sizing Chart), breast form sizing terms differ from bra sizing terms.

When replacing an existing breast form, using measurements to check for any change in bra size before selecting the size of the replacement breast form is likely to ensure a better fit.
