Product Notes

The high cleavage fully encloses the breast to hold the shape of the new breast, stabilise implants and reduce breast movement. The high underarm band, wider back and straps improve wear comfort and mobility.

The clip fastener is usually more suitable when there are post-operative drains and increased swelling to the breast and/or underbust. Clips also allow for front and/or shoulder extenders when needed.

The elasticised cups mould to the shape of the breast. The elasticised fabric tends to feel firmer on the skin with a very supportive fit.

In hospital, with the front fastener and shoulder straps undone, the bra can be fitted around the chest and over the shoulders. The shoulder straps can then be adjusted to suit the torso length to position the band below the breast fold. The front clips are then easily closed, working from bottom to top.

For lymphoedema, the high cleavage and underarm can allow for targeted lymphoedema compression when used in conjunction with lymphoedema pads. This bra does not come with pockets. Go to Bra Accessories for pockets and pocket fitting.

Sizing Suggestions

This is a ‘dual cup size’ style compression bra. Relying on a fashion bra size can mean that the sizing will not achieve the fit needed for comfort and mobility.

Whilst the dual cup style can provide flexibility when the change in breast size is uncertain, it can also make sizing more difficult when cup size is between sizes.

When determining bra size, the underbust does not change after surgery (apart from swelling), so your existing band size is the post-surgery band size.

For implant, reduction, lift and explant surgery, the post-surgery cup size is based on the existing cup size and the expected post-surgery change in cup size.

For breast reconstruction after a unilateral mastectomy, the post-surgery cup size is based on the existing cup size. For reconstruction after a bilateral mastectomy, the post-surgery cup size is based on individual expectation and the type of breast reconstruction.

Measuring Tips

Measure to the nearest half centimetre.

A flexible cloth tape is best. Alternatively, use non-stretch fabric or a belt, mark the size and then measure the length with a metal tape or ruler. Avoid string because it presses into the skin and flexible metal tapes because they wrap unevenly.

Having someone else measure is better. Wear a bra, stand still and upright, relax and breathe out. Measure the underbust against the skin under the bra band and measure the bust over the bra. If self-measuring, use a mirror to check posture and that the tape is level and wrapped firmly (but not tightly) around the body.
